GLYPY is my mascot from "GLYPH: Graphic Poetry = Trans. Sensory". This is my first (and last) attempt using a 3D printer program.
I traveled a lot while creating my graphic poetry collection. At a certain point, I sat next to Yoda.
My first graphic poetry reading event was with RHINO Poetry. It was before I became an editor. I read with Jacques Rancourt. Ralph Hamilton made this booklet for our audience.
Tupelo Press invited me to a residency at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. There I received my first inspiration for graphic poetry. In this picture, I was with Cassandra Cleghorn (Poetry Editor and Associate Editor for Nonfiction & incredible musician).
I also developed my website while I was creating my graphic poetry collection. Please check out my graphic poetry study guide. You may also like reading process essays by writers and artists in Working on Gallery.
To create my graphic poem, "I Burn the Upright Piano" (Page 30), I burnt my dear poetry professor's book cover.
